Responsibilities:
Work independently from start to finish on a project regardless of its complexity of form, engineering or level of direction given.
Understands team processes and aesthetics fluently.
Collaborate with Lead designer, jewelers, setters and product development teams on all technical aspects of creation of the finished design. Knowledge and ability to create stone settings and mechanisms with no supervision.
Provide input on timelines to completion; translate design concept into a physical piece within established project time frame.
Offer feedback on technical obstacles at initial design evaluation, participate in brainstorming sessions during review meetings. Provide suggestions on production and assembly techniques best suited for project.
Preferred Qualifications
Computer Skills: Proficient in Matrix or Rhino 3DM CAD software.
Must be extremely detailed oriented!
Computer Skills: Proficient in Slack, Asana, Dropbox, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Drive
Knowledge of complex jewelry construction as well as precious metal properties.
Ability to read and interpret design rendering
Must have good communication skills
Working knowledge of mechanisms such as hinges, clasps and screws is a plus!
Formal goldsmithing and/or metalsmithing training
Formal gem- and diamond-setting training and experience
3-5 Years experience as a custom bench jeweler
Gemological training with GIA or FGA diploma or equivalence in experience
Minimum 3 years of CAD experience specific to jewelry.
